James de la Bastide
James leads Kalyber with two decades of experience building and scaling digital businesses. He started at Avanade modernizing mission-critical platforms for the USPS, and has been redesigning enterprise systems ever since. A founder, operator, and perpetual builder, he loves embedding with clients to understand the business, design the right architecture, and deliver outcomes together.
He founded Karbyn, grew it to a 20+ person team with multimillion-dollar revenue, and successfully exited when The Reference acquired the firm in 2018. At The Reference US he continued as CEO, integrating teams and expanding the agency's North American footprint before launching Kalyber to help mid-market companies modernize their digital stack and customer experience.
Today James splits his energy between Kalyber and Popbox, pairing deep marketing and integration expertise with a love for the process of building. He brings the same hands-on curiosity to every engagement — from defining requirements and tailoring platforms to aligning stakeholders around measurable growth.

Joe Donofrio
Joe is a hands-on technology architect and solutions leader with 20+ years of experience designing scalable .NET, Azure, and AI platforms. He started his consulting career at NPS Consulting (now part of EY Digital) working with major media brands like Rodale and TV Guide to scale CMS platforms.
At Kalyber, Joe partners with marketing, product, and operations leaders to turn complex requirements into elegant architectures across C#, Web API, Blazor, Azure, Sitecore, and Salesforce. He has led cross-functional teams of 25 engineers, guided multimillion-dollar transformations, and steered companies through acquisitions and modernization programs.
Joe’s focus is building platforms that scale — grounding every solution in clear communication, measurable outcomes, and the disciplined delivery needed to keep customers, stakeholders, and developers moving in sync.
